Managing Human Resources in your Veterinary Practice, Personeelsmanagement in uw Veterinaire Praktijk, Personalmanagement in Ihrer Tierarztpraxis
The biggest asset in any veterinary practice is our staff. Without staff we don’t have a business, and without good, engaged and happy staff we don’t have happy and satisfied customers. It is our strong believe that the best performing practices, both from a professional and business perspective, are those who have found the best way to attract, educate, coach, involve, engage, reward and retain their staff.
Most veterinary practices are relatively small businesses with no specific HR “department”. Most of the time this work is done by someone with little background, or training in HR. It is not always the most wanted or rewarding job.
To help veterinary practices meet their Human Resource challenges we have designed two workshops with Dale Feinauer in Amsterdam, where we will try to make Human Resource Management more effective, accessible and fun. As well, we will provide you with new ideas and tools to take back to your business for ongoing success. These will be interactive workshops with a maximum of 40 people and the language will be English.
Dale Feinauer is a Professor at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh School of Business, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in both human resources and management. He has been involved with business education programs of Oculus Insights for veterinarians in North America, Europe and Australia. Dale is known for his very engaging and entertaining workshops and providing applicable knowledge and tools especially for smaller (family size) businesses.

When hiring a new employee it is important to know as employer what your expectations are so the candidates also know what’s expected from them. Be careful what you ask for because you might get it! Designing and writing a good job description is key for a successful recruitment and selection procedure. How to do this properly, ask the right questions and select the perfect new staff member will be the most important theme of this day.
